About Me

Hello Everyone!

Emma of Emma Hearts Paper

I’m Emma of Emma Hearts Paper.

I’ve had a lifelong love of all crafting, especially playing with paper.

I can remember at a very young age a neighbor introducing me to wooden stamps. I can only vaguely remember it, but I do remember embossing over an open flame!

It wasn’t until I got married in 2005 and wanted to scrapbook our honeymoon that I really got into scrapbooking. My first scrapbook was made using those scissors that cut patterns and stickers.

Shortly after that I was introduced to Close To My Heart by my aunt who was a consultant That was the thing that got me hooked. She hosted weekly gatherings to demonstrate the products  and helped us make beautiful things.

I was fresh out of college and had started my job. It was just me, my husband, and our dog, Linus (one of my scrapbooking friends was actually the reason Linus came into our lives!). I was doing a lot of scrapbooking in the evenings and on weekends because I had enough free time.I enjoyed routinely attending these CTMH gatherings for a few years.  This is the point where I started accumulating my supplies. So many stamps, inks, embellishments, markers, paper, tools, all of it! The majority of my supplies were from CTMH.

Once my husband and I started expanding our family my time and my focus changed. I was struggling with working full time and raising two young kids so my scrapbooking/card making fell to the side. My craft space in my home became a nursery for my son and everything was packed away. I pulled my supplies out periodically, but it was so much of a hassle it didn’t do it very often. I missed it so much.

Now my daughter is 11 and my son is 7 and I’m ready to get back at it. They are both self sufficient and don’t need me all the time anymore. Luckily for me they both enjoy crafting with me sometimes! I still work full time, but my evenings and weekends are mine now. As I write this, I haven’t started attending any gatherings yet because, well Covid. We just added a large addition onto our home so I was able to reclaim my craft room! Yay!

I’m currently taking all my glorious supplies out of storage and putting them in their new home in my craft room. As I’m rediscovering all these supplies and old projects the NEED to play with paper has hit me strong.

I started filling that need for paper crafts with Pinterest, Instagram and YouTube. It brings me such joy to see all the beautiful things you all are creating. I feel inspired to document my paper crafts in the same way!

I started my Instagram @emmaheartspaper as my way to share my work. It didn’t take long for me to realize that I really enjoy sharing my creations! I have so enjoyed becoming part of the amazing online scrapbooking/card making community!

I recently signed up to be a Close To My Heart Maker! I am beyond excited to begin this journey of helping people to create beautiful cards and amazing ways to preserve their memories!
