This is one of my favorite cards I’ve made recently. I used a Close To My Heart stamp set called Blossom Blocks. It is great for this technique because of the large solid surface to ink.
I began by mentally splitting the stamp image into thirds. I used the sponge dauber to pick up the Sunflower color ink and dabbed onto the bottom third of the stamp.
I didn’t want defined lines where the color changed so I made sure to dab into the middle part of the stamp as well.
After that Sunflower I dabbed on the Sorbet color in the middle of the stamp and into the top third a bit. I also dabbed down into the Sunflower color as well.
To finish it off I used the Hollyhock to color in the top third of the stamp, being sure to dab the color down into the Sorbet section too.
This was repeated for another stamp block from the same set. I fussy cut each image.
I used another CTMH stamp set called Adorable Backgrounds to random stamp the background on a white card.
The small colored strip was made using the same Sponge Dauber technique. I simply dabbed directly onto the paper instead of onto a stamp.
After attaching the black card stock and colored strip to the card base I used 3D foam adhesive to attach the sunset stamped flowers to the card. I did add a white square distressed on the edge with black in behind each image. You can see I also used the black ink to distress the edge of the image and the card base.
I made a quick video of how I used the Sponge Daubers to add ink to the stamps. This is my very first YouTube video ever! I know I have a lot to learn, but I enjoyed making it. I wasn’t going to do anything on YouTube, but my daughter convinced me to just do it, who cares if it isn’t as good as others out there! So I did it!
